Preparation Plan

  1. Learn vocabulary through daily-life Can-do situations.
  2. Read signs, schedules, messages and simple instructions.
  3. Practise dialogue choices and polite everyday expressions.
  4. Listen for time, place, reason, next action and speaker intention.
  5. Use official sample questions under timed computer conditions.
  6. Review every weak section; do not chase only a raw percentage.

A1 and A2.1 Use

The Japan Foundation states that A1 and A2.1 were added in connection with the Employment for Skill Development system beginning in 2027. A1 may be used for its entry-level language requirement, while field rules may require more. These lower assessments should not be assumed to meet SSW Type (i) language requirements.
